{"id":2751,"date":"2013-03-17T20:48:45","date_gmt":"2013-03-18T03:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.teachjim.com\/?p=2751"},"modified":"2013-03-17T20:48:45","modified_gmt":"2013-03-18T03:48:45","slug":"legacy-passion-and-practical-are-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.teachjim.com\/index.php\/2013\/03\/17\/legacy-passion-and-practical-are-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Legacy, Passion and Practical&#8230; Are You?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While visiting a neighbor the other day, I was surprised to find they had a hidden passion and a desire for leaving a practical legacy.<\/p>\n<h1>Quilting.<\/h1>\n<p>Sure I knew they loved and cared for their large family over the years but I&#8217;d never heard of this one and it seemed like a great idea so I&#8217;m sharing.<br \/>\nAs you and I know quilts have a certain, enduring endearment. \u00a0They are made with loving consideration and often many hours of\u00a0concentrated\u00a0effort. \u00a0The love put into these comfortable blankets seems to go with the quilt. \u00a0It spans years and miles. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.teachjim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/legacyProjectQuilting.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2752\" alt=\"Golf Quilt for Son\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.teachjim.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/legacyProjectQuilting-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis loving mother knew her son loved golf. \u00a0He has been in tournaments all over. \u00a0He has collected a large number of shirts and stuff. \u00a0These became the source of the quilt blocks for this quilt. \u00a0This themed quilt carried me into another world.<br \/>\nMemories. \u00a0Sure they can fade with time but they certainly can\u00a0accumulate\u00a0into a massive expression of a love or passion. \u00a0Golf was this mother&#8217;s son&#8217;s deal. \u00a0Mom&#8217;s goal is to validate her son&#8217;s value and her lover for him. \u00a0What a wonder these types of legacy projects have. \u00a0They take on a passion of their own. \u00a0I really enjoyed hearing this story.<\/p>\n<h2>More than a Story, A Legacy<\/h2>\n<p>Then the story continued as dad, now great grand dad, shared his desire to leave a bit of his legacy for his kids and theirs. \u00a0He had a few ideas on how to pull it off but was really struggling with how to pull it all together. \u00a0He talked of trying to help these next generations to understand and feel what it was like to &#8220;work on a farm&#8221;.<br \/>\nHe talked of photos and stories and such. \u00a0It soon was clear he had a great desire to reach his family but did not know the best was to organize this project.<br \/>\nAs we discussed some of the principles we teach in the Order of Profitable Producers he could see a path to leave a legacy by producing his own digital product. \u00a0This information product was indeed just what he wants to complete.<\/p>\n<h1>Do You Have a Legacy Project?<\/h1>\n<p>This family has a great desire to help their children appreciate their past and leverage it into the legacy they leave to the future. \u00a0The quilt is a great idea. \u00a0It captures the love of this moment and packages it around recognizing the passions of others. \u00a0Meaningful for years to come.<br \/>\nThe book with pics and other resources gives context to the stories that made up this man&#8217;s life and much of who he is. \u00a0His family will know and love him all the more when they are readying about his life year after his passing. \u00a0He and I are getting busy in the next few weeks.<br \/>\nWhat are your plans for leaving your legacy?
